Why our latest deal with Queensland’s Metro North is a win win

We recently announced an agreement with Metro North, the largest health service in Queensland, to deliver our Referrals Management Platform.

This is great news for both parties.

Metro North Hospital and Health Service serves over 900,000 people, and employs more than 16,000 staff in five hospitals and eight community health centres, along with oral and mental health facilities.

Our Referrals Management platform will enable Metro North’s healthcare professionals to submit, track and manage patient referrals as the individual moves from home, to hospital, to community care.

In line with our goal of providing greater flexibility to our customers, this project includes software licenced on a subscription basis and additionally includes Orion Health Application Managed Services – our first project in Australia to include this service offering.

Central to this partnership is Metro North’s goal of improving health outcomes by providing healthcare professionals across the care continuum with access to comprehensive patient information, a goal that is closely aligned with our company vision for enabling personalised healthcare.

An exciting aspect of this contract is that Metro North will have the ability to extend the functionality of the platform beyond Referrals Management over time, through the addition of other modules that support better care coordination between its hospitals, community health centres and other healthcare providers.

We look forward to what the future holds for Metro North and the population it serves.
